Mahoning-Trumbull AFL-CIO, Western Reserve Building Trades endorse Maruca, Lepore-Hagan, Donofrio other members of Dem slate
Chairman David Betras announced today that two of the Valley’s most respected and active labor organizations, the Mahoning-Trumbull AFL-CIO Labor Council and the Western Reserve Building Trades Council, have endorsed members of the Mahoning County Democratic Party’s primary election slate including Susan Maruca for Probate Court Judge, Anthony Donofrio for the Seventh District Court of Appeals, and Michele Lepore-Hagan for 57th District State Representative. Both organizations engaged in an in-depth candidate screening process before issuing their endorsements.
“Like the MCDP, the AFL-CIO and the Building Trades have a long and rich history of fighting to make life better for Valley families,” Chairman Betras said. “And like us they constantly strive to enhance the quality of life in our community. Our interests and our goals are closely aligned so I’m grateful that we’ll be working together to help our mutually endorsed candidates win on May 6.”
Chairman Betras noted that the AFL-CIO and Building Trades are joining the impressive list of labor unions and other organizations that had previously endorsed Maruca, Lepore-Hagan, Donofrio and other Democrats. “I’m extremely proud of the fact that our candidates have earned such broad-based support,” he said. “”It’s a clear sign that our commitment to diversity and inclusiveness is both one of our greatest strengths and a key to our success.”
